Lýkožrout smrkový
jeden z největších škůdců smrkových lesů v Evropě. Lýkožrout smrkový je brouk - kůrovec. Je to malý brouk cca 0,5cm hnědé barvy. Jeho larva je zhruba stejně velká bílá s žlutou hlavičkou.
Lýkožrouti se žíví lýkem poté co se zavrtávají pod kůru stromů. Strom po jejich invazi vypadá jako prostřílený od broků. Napadá především staré a nemocné stromy, ale v době přemnožení napadají lýkožrouti i stromy zdravé. V některých lesních porostech způsobují obrovské škody.
Samice lýkožrouta vyhloubí pod kůrou stromu jamku na kterou v kolmém směru potom hloubí další jamky a do každé z nich klade jedno vajíčko z kterých se líhne larva.
